About the Role
Melanie Onn MP is seeking a highly organised, reliable and proactive individual to support the day-to-day running of a busy constituency office.
This is a fast-paced and varied role requiring excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office and delivering an effective service to constituents.
This is a part-time role based primarily in Melanie's constituency office. Working hours will be equivalent to 24 hours.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the MP’s diary, including constituency engagements, meetings and events
Monitor and triage incoming emails, ensuring timely and appropriate responses
Act as a first point of contact for telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries, handling sensitive issues professionally
Provide general administrative support, including document preparation, record-keeping, and compliance with data protection requirements
Assist with organising and administering constituency surgeries, coffee mornings, meetings and events, including venue booking
Support printing, mailouts and distribution of correspondence and campaign materials
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on relevant systems
Provide flexible administrative and organisational support across the team as required
About You

Proactive, with a willingness to improve processes and ways of working
A strong team player, with the confidence to collaborate effectively
A driving licence and commitment to the aims and values of the Labour Party are desirable. There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
